Abstract

The article has its base in the research that was developed in a university, located in Jicamarca, Municipality Huarochirí, Lima (Peru). The study sought to be a significant contribution to the university context in the field of academic writing. The University is recognized for training professionals in the areas of Engineering and Education, hence research is a fundamental pillar for the realization of its goals, purposes and purposes. The study consisted of establishing the information needs in attention to academic writing and proposing a training and updating plan for students of the different careers for the promotion of written production. The methodology used was Participatory Action Research (IAP), the information was collected through the analysis of samples of the students' written production and an in-depth interview with the university community that allowed categorizing it and generating new knowledge through the process of triangulation. This process allowed the structuring and execution of the action plan, which met the needs in terms of academic writing both in students through the proposal of an update plan in the virtual platform of the University.
