CORRELATION BETWEEN THE SATISFACTION OF THE DIRECTOR AND WORKERS IN NINE HEALTH CENTERS IN A DISTRICT OF ECUADOR. PILOT STUDY

Abstract

Introduction. The quality of care in health services and the level of satisfaction of external users from the perspective of the internal user, when evaluating expectations and perceptions in quality dimensions, allows us to verify the level of satisfaction of workers with respect to their tasks and types of interaction between the director and his staff to visualize their realities and positions that prioritize intervention improvements in benefit of supply and demand. Design. Cross-sectional, correlation study. Place. 17D09 Distric of Ecuador. Participants. 112 health workers and 9 diectors of outpatient health centers. Intervention. Simple random sampling, expert judgment, valid and reliable form Satisfaction modified SERVQUAL, informed consent, analysis in SPSS V20, “R” and Excel systems. Main outcome measure. Pearson correlation coefficient. Results. The overall correlation was strong positive in the centers of Lumbisí, Cumbayá, Checa and Pifo, and weak in Tumbaco, Puembo and El Quichue. The Pearson correlation coefficients were between 0.37 and 0.83. There was poor quality of care in the outpatient clinic. The director's dissatisfaction was 100% and the worker 87%. Conclusions. There was a correlation between the dissatisfaction of the directors and the workers in the five dimensions at the district level.
