Abstract

This paper aims to make visible the importance of Social Work as a discipline whose intervention methodology contributes to the knowledge and transformation of social processes. The social worker seeks to improve society, visible makes social needs in an objective and impartial manner; designs appropriate intervention plans to improve the situation of communities and individuals, with respect to their human rights and empathic attitude when proposing public policies and sustainable development programs. In this sense, social workers as actors of the intervention act in real social situations: health, education, family adoption processes, alimony, divorce, parental alienation, establish socio-economic conditions of people, care for drug-dependent or alcohol-dependent persons, among others, of which, criminal lawyers address criminal and victimological phenomenology within the framework of the accusatory and oral criminal system. This system and the reform in the field of human rights, produced a legal-social change in the way of procuring and administering justice and in the way of exercising the legal profession and opening up a work environment for the social worker. Today, the social worker becomes a collaborator for high-impact strategic litigation, where his intervention is no longer limited to making reports on social work, but rather assuming himself as a test organ when he appears in the process to vent a means of proof - the expert in social work-, which, when finished, is explicitly incorporated by the proponent procedural subject, as evidence for its assessment by judges or courts.
