Abstract

The present study had as its object of analysis the planning of teaching. This tool represents the action that guides the process of teaching and learning, being indispensable for the pedagogical practice. Through this instrument, the teacher highlights the objectives and strategies to teach certain content, paying attention to how you will evaluate student performance. The objective of this study was to investigate the meanings of planning for four teachers from a municipal elementary school in João Pessoa - Paraíba. As specific objectives it was listed: analyze the political, social and economic transformations in the XXI century, which have repercussions on education; to identify how Pedagogy contributes to teacher education and its pedagogical praxis. As results, the research demonstrated that teachers plan their classes, considering the relationship between teaching, research and extension, seeking to develop critical knowledge in students.
