Más allá del dojo: El doble impacto de las artes marciales en el desarrollo personal y social.

Resumen

El presente estudio analiza la incidencia de la práctica de artes marciales en el comportamiento humano desde un enfoque cualitativo. Su objetivo fue identificar los efectos positivos y negativos de dicha práctica en la autorregulación emocional, la agresividad, la confianza y las habilidades sociales de los practicantes. La metodología incluyó entrevistas semiestructuradas a siete instructores de artes marciales con diversas trayectorias, cuyos testimonios fueron analizados mediante un enfoque fenomenológico. Los resultados evidencian que las artes marciales fomentan la disciplina, la autorregulación emocional y la seguridad personal, al tiempo que potencian la interacción social y la lucidez mental. Sin embargo, se observan riesgos asociados con el ego, la agresividad mal gestionada y la posibilidad de abandono por dolor o frustración. El rol del instructor y el enfoque de la disciplina (tradicional o competitivo) emergen como factores mediadores de estos efectos. Se concluye que las artes marciales constituyen una herramienta eficaz para el desarrollo personal y social, siempre que se consideren los aspectos éticos y se adapte el entrenamiento a las necesidades individuales.
