The North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA strengthened the economies thanks to the increase of the flows of trade and the levels of foreign investment. Nevertheless, given the differences in the productivity of the factors between the countries, as well as the conditions for the promotion to the competitiveness and the management of the organizations, the Mexican economy happened to be dependent on the imports with detriment in their social indicators. Across the calculation of the productivity of the factors it is demonstrated that the agreement strengthened the advantages of the developed countries, limiting the possibilities of specialization of the SME in Mexico in spite of the policies orientated to support them.
