SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS AND MATHEMATICS: ANALYSIS OF DISSERTATIONS AND TESES

Abstract

It is an integrative review of literature that aimed to analyze dissertations and theses that deal with social representations and mathematics. The Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) was used to collect data. 16 papers were found. An analysis was made from the reading of the abstracts of the productions to identify five aspects: objects of social representations investigated, subjects of these representations, data collection procedures, methods of analysis for access to social representations and authors mentioned. The results point to a variety of objects surveyed. Most of the studies dealt with the teaching approach. There is a plurality of data collection and analysis instruments, being more used: questionnaire of free association, interview, softwares and content analysis. The most cited authors are Moscovici and Abric. It is concluded that the Theory of Social Representations (TRS) allows the elaboration of versatile methodological and analytical compositions. Conjuncture that leads to the application of the psychosocial gaze to the formal teaching of Mathematics for presentation and innovative contributions.
