THE EVOLUTION OF THE RITES OF PASSAGE FOR KOGUI YOUTH
Keywords:
Ritual, Everyday life, Cultural identityAbstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the cultural elements in practical introduction to young adulthood in Kogi. The results indicate the importance of ritual in everyday people, including initiatory rites, because they are part of their traditions, identity and idiosyncrasies. Also, as is evident through the years there has been a small but significant metamorphosis in this rite of passage of young Kogi and various cultural practices, producing in turn a sociocultural transformation.
