Abstract

This article discusses the contributions of struggle and resistance of Women Affected by Dams (MAB) to the field of Environmental Education from the analysis of arpillera production. In this sense, the textile documents are analyzed that express the reality presented in the exhibition: "Women Affected by Dams: embroidering our rights" (MASP, 2025), which brought together 47 arpilleras from various regions of Brazil, which show the weaving of a more humane society, sensitive and collective. It is a research of qualitative approach based on the imageology produced in the embroidery and in the collective stories experienced by these women, lives that come together to weave a better future. Art claims struggle and resistance, in a historical construction made point by point as a way to overcome the environmental oppressions suffered. The proposal reveals narratives embroidered with hope. Thus, sewing becomes a powerful tool of resistance, denunciation and female empowerment, producing reflections for Environmental Education.
