Abstract

This research paper presents a strategy of institutional leadership at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, in the process of identifying the main causes and effects of the lack of application of the actions involved in positioning in the institution under study. In order to know the current situation of the Higher Education institution regarding the leadership capacity, information is obtained through the answers that the observation units are made, in order to enrich the study and make an objective and adapted projection in the context of Ecuadorian higher education In this way, it is a proposal adjusted to the needs of training leaders that facilitate communication between all areas and members of the university community. This is an exploratory and descriptive crosssectional field research, the sample was 85 teachers, 43 administrative and 15 service people. The analysis and interpretation of the results corroborates the design of an organizational strategy in a model of integral leadership, the philosophy of work, the institutions of higher education, the rectors of education in the country, so the instrumentation of leadership as a strategy potentiates the development of the most important element of an economic unit, which is human resources in all areas of management, support and operation; motivate the emergence of future leaders that guarantee an efficient functioning and continuity of the institution in the market in the long term. The instruments for the most valuable assets (human capital).
