The present article intends to provoke a reflection about the citizenship in the school context, considering the conceptual paradigms and beginnings that are getting progressively defined in national and international documents. We understand that citizenship and public politics are rights that need to be built collectively; it is necessary to have an education to citizenship promoting an attitude of conscience elapsing in the everyday life of the people of countless segments. However, some reflections will be woven in contribution of a practice with less segregation and prejudice, guaranteeing to the education a prominent place in society.Therefore our society depends on changes and values to live a new paradigm which is not made by simple technical recommendations, but by reflections of the teachers and students.
