Abstract

The paper proposes to study the importance of family participation in the development of the child in the school environment, and through our experiences in the classroom and observation came the interest of discussing the theme. The same has as a General Objective: to investigate the contributions of the family / school in the teaching / learning process of the student and as Specific Objectives: To understand the environment where the students act as facilitator of the learning process; Ponder the role that each one develops for the cognitive growth of the student and Analyze the benefits working together. The methodology was a qualitative and quantitative nature and the field research with the data collection together with the observations, and semi-structured interviews. Research indicates that several factors influence the growth of this student, one of the main points is the participation of relatives in collaborating positively to guarantee the right to shelter, food, affection, safety and education. The school should direct the child in relation to his / her learning, and the teacher is the mediator encouraging the student to develop his / her abilities, the family is obliged to be in partnership with the school so that this process happens in a satisfactory way by building critical citizens for the society.
