Abstract

The research aims to identify the factors that can influence the critical points of the links in the value chain of Michael Porter, in the system of production of vegetables in the Guardaña Basin, considering as a theory for the analysis the model of local endogenous development. It uses the deductive method, its design is non-experimental, has a descriptive level and uses cluster analysis. It considers 170 families producing a total of 466 out of 16 communities in the Guardaña Basin. The results show that the value chain is of the traditional type; and the productive processes, the participation of the actors (community organizations and non-profit organizations), technology, producers and traditional forms of local production are factors that allow defining the value chain; contributing to endogenous local development.
