Abstract

This work develops a quantitative analysis of the concurrent presence of the terms "globalization" and "human rights" in the press of the Latin American countries, in news, reports and opinion pieces, among others, for the period 2009-2018. The study has been carried out based on the exploitation of the data offered by the Factiva® tool, owned by Dow Jones & Company, a worldwide database that offers relevant results from more than 33,000 media around the world. The evidence found suggests relevant differences in the media representation achieved by globalization and human rights in the press of each country, relating these differences with specific characteristics related to economic development, inequality or institutional quality
