Financial Education is a fundamental tool in an economy where more complex financial products and services are becoming more accessible, increasing the vulnerability of young university students, a situation that is intensified in the case of women. The present research aims to evaluate the Financial Education of young university students in Mexico and identify the impact of existing gender inequality on their level of knowledge. For this, 3,649 students from the main universities of the five most populated metropolitan areas of Mexico were surveyed, a descriptive study was developed with a non-experimental cross-sectional quantitative approach to evaluate the knowledge of university students on different topics. The results show that there is a gender inequality in access to financial products and services, in addition to this, it was found that financial behavior is the variable with the greatest influence on the level of Financial Education of Young University Students, followed by financial knowledge Curiously, socioeconomic level is the variable that has the least influence. Finally, it is concluded that men have, on average, a higher level of Financial Education than women.
