THE FAMILY SYSTEM AS AN ETIOPATHOGENIC FACTOR IN DRUG USE: PILOT STUDY IN A HIGH SCHOOL

Introduction. The family has the irreplaceable role in the adolescent's education, it prevents him from taking drugs when the interaction in coexistence is healthy, establishing his actions in his life. Objective. Determine the influence of the family on the consumption of illicit drugs, in adolescents. Methodology. Observational, descriptive and transversal design. A survey and a questionnaire were applied, validated by expert judgment to 169 students of the Milagro Educational Unit in 2016. The Excel program and the Chi square test were used. Results. 40.09% (61) of students who use illicit drugs belonged to dysfunctional families and 36.91% (16) to functional families. 50% (83) of parents did not go to the educational institution to know about their children. Marijuana was consumed in 18% (31) and "H" in 13% (22). The adolescents had problems of communication, emotional expression and security. For the consumption they presented symptoms like the alteration of the conscience, decrease of the emotional pain, alteration of the state of mind, alterations of the dream and appetite. Conclusions. An association of the influence of the family on the consumption of illicit drugs in adolescents was demonstrated.
