Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the level of psychological welfare of the port workers in Puerto Montt, Chile. The sample was composed by 98 workers (M=42, 5 and DT= 5, 13 years). Psychological welfare was evaluated with the Ryff scale of 39 items. The results show that a 38% has a high level of psychological welfare. A 39% declares to have a high perception of life purpose. On the other side, a 32% of the interviewees tend to show better levels of psychological welfare. Finally, one out of four people shows a low level of psychological welfare. The results show that they must empower the self-care and promote actions to improve the quality of life of port workers.
