Abstract

The construction of inclusive and equitable societies in local governments implies the understanding and evaluation of new multidimensional approaches to social transformation. In this context, the present work analyzes the dimensions of the processes of associative management and social innovation of the Rural Decentralized Autonomous Governments of the province of Tungurahua, taking as a target group the presidents of the local government. Main conceptual contributions that have been made in recent times around the study variables are also shown. The study is methodologically based on a constructivist line of thought, its approach is qualitative, and research methods: bibliographic, deductive-inductive, analytic-synthetic and descriptive. In conclusion, associative management is defined as a socio-economic cooperation mechanism and an opportunity to generate strategic alliances. Meanwhile, the theoretical notions of social innovation raises two approaches, the first focused on changes, reforms, and transformations, that is, the creation of the new "social creativity", and the second seen as a simple instrument to respond or satisfy needs of society, that is, solve local emergencies.
