BIOETHICS AND TECHNICAL SOCIETY: RESEARCH ON EMBRYONIC STEM CELLS FOR THERAPEUTIC PURPOSES

This research has the scope to analyze the legitimacy of embryonic stem cells for the purpose of use in therapeutic treatments. Therefore, the central objective of the research is to demonstrate what the problems brought about by the use of human embryos in stem cell procedures and what relevant benefits for medical able to justify the intervention of new technologies in humans. Also, among the specific objectives, we seek to present brief outlines of the beginning of life and the role of Bioethics and Biolaw in preserving the right to life and human dignity; which the position of the Supreme Court on the legitimacy of embryonic stem cells; brief analysis of biosafety regimes, and in the end the answer to the following question: is the procedure of using embryonic stem cells, a problem or solution? Thus, the problem of research focuses on possible violation of fundamental rights to life and human dignity, in the face of scientific and technological research applied to humans, and, this study proposes to discuss its legitimacy and its importance today, with respect, the scientific progress for the benefit of human beings.
