ALEJANDRO LIPSCHUTZ AND THE ANDEAN STUDIES. FROM THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION TO THE “CHILEAN WAY TO SOCIALISM”

This article analyzes the relationship between the work of the Chilean-Latvian indigenist Alejandro Lipschutz and the field of Chilean Andean studies. To achieve this, in first place I analyze some biographical data of Lipschutz and its main theoretical-methodological contributions, crystallized in the concepts of American resurrection and transculturation; en second place I analyze the influence of Lipschutz on some of the pioneers researchers in the field of Chilean Andean Studies: the archaeologist Mario Rivera and the geographer Freddy Taberna. In the conclusions the article proposes a reflection on the contributions of Lipschutz to the anthropology and its influence in the Chilean Andean studies.
