Abstract

Self-care is a basic condition of living beings, therefore, from a global health
perspective, it becomes relevant for disease prevention and health maintenance.
Thus, the present research aimed to raise how Physical Education is
approaching the theme of self-care in the scientific and media context, as well
as the interface with bioethics. A bibliographical, quantitative, and transversal
research was carried out from an integrative review of the databases of Bireme,
Google Scholar and Capes Periodicals Portal, websites or blogs and Youtube
with the descriptors "self-care" and "physical education". We were demonstrated
that physical education professionals have been working on self-care at school,
guided by bioethical principles. However, there has been no transposition of the
dialogue with the scientific community, emphasizing the need to identify and
encourage work on the subject with bioethical principles and values.
