Abstract

This research addresses investigations undertaken in the Research Group on Methodology for
Chemical Education (GPMEQ), at the State University of Paraíba (UEPB). Trying to evaluate a
pedagogical intervention proposal for the teaching of periodic table, in front of students with visual
impairment, in the context of regular education. The didactic material developed was generated from
numerous studies, with the purpose of promoting the learning of scientific concepts. The locus of the
research was the Institute for the Blind in the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba, Brazil. The results
indicate that the pedagogical proposal obtained a satisfactory evaluation, signaling the importance of
adapting teaching strategies and methodologies, in addition to materials that can support the learning
of the content in the Chemistry discipline.
