TAXONOMY OF HYPERMODERN FEAR VERSUS DOUBT
Keywords:
Postruth, Doubt, Fear, GlobalizationAbstract
The goal is to analyse the universal phenomenon of fear within the historical perspective and its relationship with hypermodernity. Accomplishing this purpose, three of the most unique features of contemporary society have been selected as a taxonomy: post-truth and politics control strategies; the concept of duty from new perspectives of narcissism and, finally, the power of the image in relation to screens proliferation. As a result of this analysis, we should verify that those features share a common intention which operates as strategy aimed at the use of fear as a control mechanism: the absence of doubt as a deterrent to fear.
