AN AUTISTIC, A SCHOOL, A HISTORY: A LOOK AT THE INCLUSION OF THE AUTISTIC STUDENT IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT
Abstract
The public education system in Brazil has been experiencing challenging scenarios regarding the
inclusion of autistic students in the school context. In this theoretical-methodological design, it was
observed that despite the achievements in the legislative and medical-hospital text, it is necessary to
delve deeper into the fabrics of the classroom. To reflect on the inclusion of autistic students in the
school context, a qualitative bibliographic research was carried out based on studies by Carvalho
(1999), Lima (2008) Mantoan (2006), among others, from the perspective of teaching. It was pointed
out that it is important, so that the inclusion of autistic children in the school environment takes place,
there is a collective social awareness where all members of society know, integrate, and fight to
include conceptual, attitudinal, and procedurally accepting the differences.
