INCLUSIVE PRACTICES IN HIGHER EDUCATION – ACTIONS BY THE ACCESSIBILITY NUCLEUS OF URCA/CEARÁ/BRAZIL
Abstract
The research aims to emphasize the importance of including inclusive practices in higher education
institutions, through the actions implemented by the Accessibility Center of the Regional University of
Cariri (ACRUC). Faced with the entry of students with special educational needs (SEN) in higher
education institutions, there is a need to implement actions that guarantee access and permanence
of these students in universities. ACRUC arises not only seeking to meet such demands, but also to
develop actions that ensure student learning. In addition, we present a brief literary review about the
legislation surrounding Inclusive Education. From this perspective, it is worth emphasizing the need
for universities to implement inclusive actions, not only for access or permanence in the institution,
but actions that make it possible to raise awareness, clarify and inform everyone in the academic
community.
