Abstract

In this paper we intend to evaluate and reinforce the importance of establishing conceptual
foundations for a better understanding of the term ‘risk’, commonly used to mark vulnerable groups
in the face of certain contexts. Therefore, we are interested in questioning the nomenclature ‘risk
groups’, understanding that it has two dimensions that form the same problem for thinking about
transphobia and its facets - the first, ethics, which would be responsible for naturalizing the place of
subordination that trans people find themselves in; and the second, political (in the social and school
spheres), which would empty the historical-political component that helps us to understand the
structures of inequalities that cross and materialize differently in the bodies of trans subjects. To do
this, we will use intersectional methodology and trans feminism as a way of recognizing the
intersection of the system of violence that prevails in times of neoliberal capitalism, reducing bodies
to goods and medicalizing all the processes of their lives and deaths.
