Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism Policies

Revista Inclusiones is committed to academic integrity and the originality of the research it publishes. Therefore, we have established the following policies to prevent and detect plagiarism and self-plagiarism in all submitted manuscripts, using advanced tools such as Similarity Check by Crossref and a rigorous review process.

Originality and Uniqueness

All articles submitted to Revista Inclusiones must be original and unpublished. The signing authors are solely responsible for ensuring that their manuscript complies with these requirements, as well as with the Publication Guidelines and Ethical Policies of the journal. Articles identified as plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

Definition of Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism

  • Plagiarism: Unauthorized or uncited use of the work, ideas, data, or texts of other authors, presenting them as one’s own.

  • Self-Plagiarism: Substantial reuse of content previously published by the same author without proper citation or authorization, including full or partial republications of already disseminated works.

Process for Detecting Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism

Revista Inclusiones actively reviews all submitted manuscripts to detect potential cases of plagiarism and self-plagiarism, integrating Similarity Check by Crossref into its editorial workflow. This process is conducted in the initial stage, prior to peer review. For more details about our evaluation process, please see: https://revistainclusiones.org/index.php/inclu/peer-review-process.

Consequences of Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts identified as plagiarism or self-plagiarism will be automatically rejected.

  • In serious cases, the journal may notify the authors’ affiliated institutions and/or other academic journals, adhering to international ethical standards.

  • If plagiarism or self-plagiarism is detected in an already published article, it will be retracted, following the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Author’s Commitment

By submitting a manuscript to Revista Inclusiones, authors declare that:

  • The work is original, unpublished, and has not been previously published nor is under consideration by another journal.

  • All sources used have been properly cited, following the 17th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style.

  • They have obtained the necessary permissions for any third-party material included in the manuscript.

Support for Authors

Revista Inclusiones is committed to educating and supporting its authors. During the initial evaluation, our team, trained in the use of Similarity Check, will provide clear feedback on any detected similarities, assisting authors in correcting citations or references before proceeding further.
