ARRIVAL OF CHILDREN MIGRANT BY SEA: POLICE ACTIONS AND LEGAL-ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES
Abstract
From the persective of Social Work, this article analyzes the police actions and protocols developed
from the moment when a boat is located arriving to national territory, as well as the subsequent
actions in the detection of minors. From a qualitative approach, we used literature review and semistructured in-depth key informant interviews as research techniques. Interviews are conducted with
professionals from the national police force and legal experts in the field of foreigners, who work in
the southeast of Spain. Professionals reflect a lack of protection of the fundamental rights of minors
and a clear risk to their legal protection in the receiving country.
