ANTHROPOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES ON A VIRTUAL FACEBOOK COMMUNITY BASED ON THE REFLECTIONS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
This article aims to demonstrate opinion-forming processes in facebook digital media. From the nonparticipant observation in a certain closed group of students and graduates of a Brazilian university
campus, it was possible to understand how the process of construction and opinion formation is
intrinsically interconnected with daily actions, configuring the dynamics of a virtualized society. We
bring as a new perspective in this work the impacts that this same Facebook group suffered in its
uses during the covid-19 pandemic. The materials to be obtained will be described through screen
prints, seeking to identify the most recurrent keywords, on the days and times of class of the campus
in question, in the period of the first school semester of 2021. As a contribution to the use of digital
social media, we will make use of authors of digital anthropology who converge on the most varied
ways of doing qualitative research on the Internet.
