Abstract

I explore digital mediations in three spheres of professional practice in anthropology: research,
teaching, and university extension. I am particularly interested in identifying specific aspects in the
context of social isolation that was triggered by the pandemic, placing them in a broad temporal
perspective, and contrasting them with other digital practices that are not directly linked to the
historical moment we are going through. For do this, firstly I refer to the digitization of interactions,
publications, and sources of information. Then, I focus on the meeting spaces between researchers.
And finally, I examine instances of communication in the teaching of field work and in the production
of content for social networks. I propose an extension of the invisible colleges concept to analyze
recent interaction dynamics.
