INCLINATION OF THE RESEARCH FROM WOMEN DURING THE XXI CENTURY IN MEXICO. AN APPROACH

Abstract

Objective: To explore why women investigated in Mexico, the highest level (III) of the National System of Researchers (SNI),
through the review and records of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT) and direct interviews to
understand the disciplines that cultivate and motivations.
Methodology: Locate, from a gender perspective and interdisciplinary, access of women to education and scientific research,
as well as their performance and contributions to knowledge. An outline of the panorama of the presence of women in the
Education and science both in the US and Europe and is present Mexico since the seventies in the twentieth century to the
present (2015).
Results: The total number of researchers in force was located in 2015: 23 000 316 of which 15 000 070 (64.64%) were men
and 8000 246 (35.36%) women. Within the NIS 837 thousand without candidates; 4000 486 Level I, Level 2 thousand 173 and
418 level III. Social commitment, curiosity, interest, vocation, teacher empowerment and suggestions: As for the motivations
of 89 level III, the following categories were located, knowledge. We found that in the areas of Education and Humanities
investigating continue to have a significant presence. 87 researchers from 418 (almost 21%) fields comprising Health Sciences,
Earth Sciences and the Cosmos, Science are located: But substantial progress in other areas formerly forbidden or virtual
absence was detected Life and chemistry. Other areas that are already present Biophysics, Zoology and Animal Biology, Cell
Biology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Ethology, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology and Microbiology.
