‘LISTEN TO US, SISTER’. PODCAST AS PRACTICES AND CHANNELS OF FEMINIST ACTIVISM

Abstract

In the midst of the expansion of the podcast phenomenon, the present work aims to make an
approach to the potential of this media for feminist communication and its use for activist practices of
self-mediation, visibility of issues, approaches and references as well as for the construction of
identity. From a search of contents labeled as feminist in Spotify and iVoox, a first approach to the
form and contents of this podcastesphere has been made. An approach that has derived in a
classification proposal that aims at a first conceptualization of this complex and diverse phenomenon,
putting special emphasis on the Spanish-speaking podcastesphere.
