EDUCATION AND AFFECTIONS: A THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL CONTRIBUTION FOR THE TEACHING OF VALUES IN THE FIELD OF THE CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

The study of affections and its relationship with education is a field which has not been completely explored. It is not surprising that if we think about the history of thinking, the affections are considered to be a distress of our reason that must be tamed. We propose a theoretical-practical approach to affections, as they have an essential role in the formation of values of professionals and citizens to confront different social challenges. Our point of view should challenge psychologism and the discourse used to promote values. Our proposal consists of the teaching of values in the context of curriculum design of pedagogical programmes at Universidad de Los Lagos and also in the values education of citizens that every single educational institution should consider.
