The article focuses on some significant aspects of the Lex Iulia maiestatis to show what role the concept of maiestas in the construction of the figure of the emperor by Octavian Augustus during the 1st century BC in Rome. The aim is to show that the auctoritas and potestas are the foundations that allow Octavian reach a place of prominence within the Roman community.
