SOCIAL DETERMINATION OR SOCIAL DETERMINANTS IN THE QUALITY OF LIFE: A REFLECTION FROM THE COASTAL TERRITORIES. A COASTAL COMMUNE IN THE SOUTH OF CHILE
Abstract
The present text seeks to reflect on the health of the inhabitants of a coastal commune in the southern
coastal areas of Chile that, with high rates of poverty, takes on the challenge of moving towards a
better quality of life, assuming social determinants that are elusive. but that in one way or another
account for the historicity of its people and the resilience with which they have faced their condition.
It reflects on physical issues such as food and sedentary lifestyle and some relevant mental health
actions that are key to projecting a more accurate work from public policies to advance well-being for
all.
