CONCEPTIONS OF THE BODY IN THE EDUCATION OF CORPOREITY EXPRESSED IN THE CHILEAN TEACHING DISCOURSE
Abstract
In order to contribute to an Intercultural Physical Education, this article seeks to identify the
conceptions about the education of corporeity expressed in the teaching discourse in schools in
Santiago de Chile. The participants are teachers of Physical Education from these schools. The
methodology is qualitative, the information is obtained through semi-structured interviews. Among the
most interesting results, it is observed that the conception of the body in the discourse of subsidized
school teachers coincides with the biomedical approach to health present in the national study
programs of the Physical Education subject. However, it can be seen in the teachers' discourse that
some of the discursive interventions have the intention of educating corporeity, from the integral
conception of the body. This study is framed in the context of a doctoral study.
