INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: POWER AND NEW MASCULINITIES WITHIN INFORMATIONAL CAPITALISM

Abstract

Power, seen as domination, is a category that is historically reproduced, catalogued from the male
exercise, it was conceived in the social imaginaries from the beginning and thus assumed in historical
terms, the reflection of this is in force in the daily human practices that are questioned. Its exercise is
perceived in the imposition of actions, truths and knowledge under different mechanisms and at
different scales, thus it is observed from domestic practices to foreign policy. The present study
addresses the theme of male power in the discipline of International Relations, a fundamental theme
if one wishes to transcend to a new form of interpretation and above all, to transform the world. From
a transductive perception, we intend to see scenarios of possibility for a present with new
masculinities in the scientific work of this discipline in order to approach it from its specific context, an
information-thirsty capitalism.
