VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION IN COMICS AS A TEACHING RESOURCE IN THE TEACHING OF SPANISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This study tries to justify the use of comics as a teaching resource in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language, because the reading and creation of comics improve the student’s communicative competence and reflection on the process of language acquisition, verbal content and nonverbal. For this we have reviewed a specific bibliography, making a brief history and attending to types of comics and diversity of contents, verbal and nonverbal elements and their interpretation. We also justify the educational potential of the comic in terms of the acquisition of knowledge and the development of critical, reflective and creative thinking. And finally, we conclude with some proposal and didactic considerations.
