CHILDREN'S GRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT, MORE THAN A HUNDRED YEARS OF STUDIES
Abstract
Drawing is a natural act in childhood that all children perform in different historical moments and
cultural settings throughout the world. More than 100 years ago, pedagogues, psychiatrists and art
historians began to take an interest in the evolution of children's drawing. The aim of the present work
is to carry out an exhaustive review of the origins of the study of children's graphic development, its
scholars, elements and evolution of the main graphic phenomena found. This work is carefully carried
out step by step, offering the results of the first works dedicated to this question and the contributions
of the end of the last century and the beginning of this one.
