A BIOETHICAL VIEW AT ENTOMOPHAGY: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW
DOI:

Based on the expectation that entomophagy will emerge as an ethical alternative
for the consumption of animal protein, the present study aimed to characterize
the benefits, limitations and vulnerabilities conveyed in scientific and media texts.
For this, an integrative review of scientific and popular content was carried out,
with a total of 500 texts being recovered. The analysis of the scientific content
showed a discrepancy in the national and international scenarios, expressing
itself in Brazilian productions characterized as practical research, mainly aimed
at accessing social representations. The media content showed receptivity to the
alternative, mostly bringing suggestions for insertion in the cuisine. Although the
dimensions analyzed have listed the numerous benefits linked to entomophagy,
a closer dialogue with bioethics was not identified, thus demanding the
appropriation of the theme in their agendas, in order to mitigate physical, social,
economic and environmental vulnerabilities, without , however, generate others.
